What next ?

It is a little confusing right now since I have about 10 figures on my desk in various stages of completion; some of them have been there for months without noticeable progress.
They are :
- 2 Kelt Sessair figs (1 Kelt Centaur, 1 Giant w/ halberd) almost done, probably ready by the end of the week.
- 2 Clones of Dirz : similar poses, but one w/ natural metallics and one w/ NMM. I don't know what to do since the better one by far is the metallic one whereas the NMM is a total failure but I'm trying to improve my NMM technique and all of my future figs are probably going to be NMMs so I don't want to give up!!! a hard choice.
- 2 limited edition Fenryll figs : Nahiri fighting the serpent (undercoated, + skin done) and a demon/devil almost finished. I'm also touching up an older Amazon, but have trouble w/ the eyes. I'm trying to finish all for the Fozzbozz Fenryll painting contest by Thursday night !!!
- 2 Dark Age Skarrd Harpies (1/2 done) where I added some skematic tile pieces to the bases..I should finish these soon for the next round of DA games...

Photos to come soon, except for the Fenryll ones that are reserved for the Fozzbozz contest but that will come once it is over.

Looking back at 2005

When I started this blog in May last year, I had in mind a website where I could simply showcase some of my painted miniatures with a relevant comment here and there.
This project turned out to be much more than that : it became a log of everything hobby related including terrain, moldmaking, convention etc.. and best of all it added a little discipline to my otherwise erratic paint schedule. With this blog, I can see some progress in mastering painting techniques, and I can reach certain goals of finishing specific ranges of minis or terrain in time for a deadline; thus greatly enhancing my productivity.
Let's face it : I'll never paint as fast as I can buy minis, because there's always something new out there that I "need" to have, but at least I can record my progress..
So far, what have I accomplished in the past 8 months ?
A staggering total of 38 minis and miscellaneous terrain pieces ! That is almost 5 minis per month and more that one per week !
Logically, I should be able to do the same in 2006, maybe even better !
The most popular figs were Rackham (16), Dark Age (7), Excalibur (5) and Fenryll (4) + misc.
2006 starts well with 3 figs in the first 2 weeks and 2 more on the workbench to be finished by the end of the month.
Again, my focus will be mostly on Rackham and Dark Age figures : Rackham because I need to field a fully painted 400 Points army with a lot of options of Kelt Sessairs (maybe 20 figs) and maybe take on some Dirz or Ophidians as well; I'll have to help my 10 year old son to paint his newly acquired Wolfen...
For Dark Age, I will need to paint up some Skarrd for the upcoming St Mary's vs Skarrd book cause my friend Scott will want to try that out, and to fleshen my honourable Forsaken army.
The rest is open...
Cheers and happy New Year for all who have followed my blog adventures !

new pictures soon...

Hi fans !

It's been quiet 'cause of the holidays I spent with my daughter in Cambodia (Angkor Wat) which gave me the idea for a new diorama based on a ruined temple and who would have guessed it ? Lara Croft...
Still in the designing stage but it will be historically based, for the temple part that is..

I finished 2 figures last week but could not take good pictures with the heavy rains and dark skies we had last weekend (I prefer natural light to take my pictures) : they are Bragh An Scathar (Rackham Sessair Giant) and a Spasm warrior (also from Rackham).
I stopped painting Rackham minis and started on something new from Fenryll and Excalibur but it remains a secret for now ;)
